  In the business since 1984, the authors of AdVenta and RTS, have deployed highly transactional, industrial  point-of-sale applications since 1993. Over the years, in order to be successful, the goal is to minimize technical support issues, and keep these issues, when they arise, to a contained and manageable state. The architecture is simple and easily understood by vendors/dealers, and is easy and rapid to install and maintain. The authors of AdVenta, therefore, know everything about and control all aspects of, all the related technology which is part and parcel of the application, avoiding being at the mercy of some third party. Through the years, there have been plenty of experiences with operating systems not performing up to snuff and as a result plenty of rewrites of various layers of the OS in order to stabilize the industrial application's critical requirements.
